JAHRTAL - "Lichtbuch" CD 2008  (Ahnstern / Steinklang) - 12 euro - "Lichtbuch" is a true treasure of Psychedelic Folk Music, a unique collection of traditional folksongs from the Alps, musical versions of poems by Joseph von Eichendorff, traditionals from England and Scotland in german translation and even a traditional Tibetan prayer. Lichtbuch is a absolute authentic Folk album with great heart and pure soul. The songs and balads on Lichtbuch have mainly a sad-optimistic mood, they shall delight the listener, as well as touch him thoughtfully. Besides a guitar, which the artist reconstructed himself to a Sitar (Gzitar), Jahrtal uses acoustic guitars, electric guitars, lute, banjo, dulcimer, gzitar, harpzither, psalter, flute, duduk, schalm, violin, organ and bird's voices. JARBOE – "Alchemic" digipack CD (Twilight Records) - SOLD OUT!! - JARBOE is a solo artist who came to prominence in the mid-1980s with the New York City based group Swans. With founder Michael Gira, the duo was the core of Swans until the group broke up in 1998. She continues to release numerous solo albums and collaborations. But speak about JARBOE is not neccesary , as she is one of the most underground artist of the NY scene. Now she signed with Twilight Record to offer the audience and fans an amazing solo conceptual album. "Alchemic" features trance-like compositions created entirely by me working alone. JOB KARMA - "Punkt" digipack CD 2010 (Obuh Records) - 11 euro - Those who follow post-industrial music know well (or at least they should know) the name of JOB KARMA. We present  with utmost pleasure a still-hot fresh album of this merited duo, who are gradually becoming the spearhead of landscapists of the genre. These two brave-hearted boosters of  post-industrial tradition are now forging hit by hit 8 well-shaped and perversely tuneful pieces, which form an ideal soundtrack for an apocalyptic soap opera that eats up bits of our lives every now and then. Escape from...but where? Everywhere is the same in the giant guts of the mechanical Leviathan. Cosmos serves more and more dark lards from the frighteningly far galactic preserves, the black hole gets bigger and bigger. But do not be afraid. KADAVER - "This Time... It's Cancer" CD (Topheth Prophet) - 10 euro -  Originally supposed to be released by Slaughter Productions, Italy, but due to the circumstances (label owner's suicide) now released on Topheth Prophet instead. "This Time...It's Cancer" is the latest release by Israeli death industrial project Kadaver. Edition of 500 copies, artwork & design by Ori Drumer.

KARSTEN HAMRE - "Through the Eyes of a Stranger"  CD + DVD /PAL/ 2009 (First Fallen Star) - 15 euro - Having created music for many years under such project names as Arcane Art, Penitent, and Defraktor, Karsten Hamre returns with the "Through the Eyes of a Stranger". Similar to his project Dense Vision Shrine, under his own name, Karsten crafts desolate dark ambient sound structures, ornamented by sampled sounds and experimental textures. The end result of this process is an experience categorized perhaps too simply as dark ambient, though it more closely resembles a dark soundtrack to a movie, or to a life - as seen through the eyes of a stranger. Ltd x 500 copies in a DVD case with bonus DVD that takes the viewer on a visual journey of imagery used for live performances. PAL Format, Region 0 (will play in all European DVD players).

KENJI SIRATORI - "Brain Fucker"  CDR 2008 (Mask Of The Slave) - 3 euro - Born March 13, 1975, in Chitose, Hokkaido, Japan, Kenji Siratori is a cyberpunk author and internet self-promoter. He first gained attention in 2006 by writing to as many industrial, ambient, EBM and goth bands he could find, including "reviews" of them in his idiosyncratic style, and asking to collaborate. His scattergun approach proved successful, despite his reviews of non-sequitirs and non-sensical cyberspeak being interchangeable, and a slew of collaborations from flattered musicians were soon foisted upon the world. Japanese Noise with PE elements, full length album!  CD-r in DVD case with pro-cover, limited to 100 copies.

KRZYSZTOF PENDERECKI - "Rękopis znaleziony w Saragossie (The Saragossa Manuscript)" digipack CD (Obuh Records) – 11 euro - Having been introduced to Penderecki's work through film, this 2005 Polish Obuh label (one time, 500 copy numbered edition) was certainly unexpected news to me, not even having seen the 1965 movie and all (a widescreen restored edition DVD with an isolated score option is in print), but one can certainly make out some of the creepy/surreal elements pointed out in the book, various online reviews, as well as the quasi-quotation of Ludwig van Beethoven's "Ode to Joy" from his Ninth Symphony.

This slippery score, made in 1963 at the Polish Radio Experimental Studio (Warsaw), with the Polish Radio Grand Symphonic Orchestra also displays elements such as a recurring Spanish barroque like acoustic guitar motive (first heard after about two minutes into side A), some voice/sound tape manipulation and studio electronics, in this way conjuring a climate of at times both isolated calm and claustrofobic storm, partially insinuating the composer's later return to a more traditional music, but at this time still incorporating more abrupt elements into his work.

Some portion of the music on here (Aria, Menuetto I and Menuetto II) was also published as vocal and sheet music as "Drei Stücke im alten Stil (nach Filmmusiken zu `Tagebuch von Saragossa`)" by Schott.

Penderecki also scored Wojciech Has' The Codes from 1966.

L'EFFET C'EST MOI - "Les Voix De L'Apocalypse"   digipack CD (Midnight Productions) - 11 euro - The brand new album from the Italian Medieval-Martial-Neoclassical project! Greatly invoked by romanticism as well as a martial spirit, "Les Voix De L'Apocalypse" is more epic sounding music-wise than their last full-length "Tomber En Heroes" (War Office Propaganda), with a great mix of more medieval melodies. L'HORRIBLE PASSION - "Lucidique et les limites du bon sens"  profi CDR with A5 cover (Reminiscences Prod.) - 7 euro -  Debut release by this intriguing Spanish Dark Ambient band. The album blends old gramophone recordings with Neo-Classical piano lines, filled with gloom and sadness. A cold and chilly sound, which brings to mind Land. Lim. 200 copies, pro-CDr w/postcard.

LAGOWSKI – “Temporary Distractions” CD 2006 (Ars Benevola Mater) - SOLD OUT!! -  LTD. 1035 NUMBERED COPIES IN DELUXE PACKAGE. - Thanks to his long experience in the world of electronic music, Andrew Lagowski leads our attention through brilliant, harmonious and involving electro paths. LAHARIS - "Unpolitical Alchemy" CD (Vrihaspati Records) - 12 euro -  Laharis is the new project of Johan König who was the original founder of A Challenge of Honour. After recording the 'Wilhelm Gustloff' sessions, Johan left ACOH and gave the Project to Peter, who is ACOH nowadays. In 2005 Johan started working on his own music again under a name that he used already several years ago: Laharis. On the new album "unpolitical alchemy" he works again (for the first time in 5 years) together with Peter. The sound is between the early ACOH recordings with modern electronic influences. MAJDANEK WALTZ / SAL SOLARIS - "Himmel Des Reichs / Der Himmel Über Berlin" CD (KultFront) - 12 euro -This split CD is a remastered edition of one of the most energetic recordings from Russian act Majdanek Waltz (from 2004) with special additional tracks from their friends Sal Solaris. "The release continues the theme of 'Cranes' - the absurdity of the confrontation between two forces of brothers-soldiers. Both poles could be clearly seen here, divided stylistically and ideologically - Majdanek Waltz martial / dark folk hymns expressing one side�s view, while Sal Solaris ambient-industrial tracks are the memories of their recent enemies". MEGAPTERA - "You Will Never Survive This Nightmare" 2 CD (Live Bait Rec.) - 14 euro - In 1995 Slaughter Productions released a cassette tape called "You Will Never Survive This Nightmare", by cult Industrial act Megaptera. This cassette was a milestone in the development of genre of Death Industrial. Containing a re-mastered version of the debut cassette "You Will Recover" originally released in 1991 on Nuxdorf Recordings, as well as the three track cassette "Nightmares" and three unreleased bonus tracks. The formation of Live Bait Recording Foundation could be traced back to the acquisition of this cassette. So, it is with great excitement and honor we announce the re-issue of this seminal Death Industrial release for the first time ever on CD, completely re-mastered in the summer of 2006. Fleshing out this 125 minute double CD is a long forgotten 6 track live performance from London in 2001. MERZBOW - "Anicca"  CD   (Cold Spring) - 11 euro - The first track on Merzbow's latest opus was recorded at Tin Pan Alley studios, London, on 20th April 2008 - the day after his momentous performance at ULU. Akita created an astounding and very unique 20-minute track, playing freestyle drums over his trademark noise. The final 2 tracks were created at Munemi House in Tokyo. Another fine example of why Merzbow is the undisputed King of Japanese Noise! 58 minutes in total.

MICHAEL CASHMORE - "The Snow Abides" digipack CD (Durtro Jnana)- 10 euro - MICHAEL CASHMORE (Current 93)  "The Snow Abides", Michael writes the music, David Tibet provides the words as sung by ANTONY (of Antony & The Johnsons). Five tracks all thematically linked, musically I'd say it belongs in the modern composition genre with its sparse piano lines, mournful strings all loving spaced to give all three elements room to resonate. Antony's voice attracts varying opinion which on this soulful display only adds to the melancholic dynamic.

MICHAEL MANTRA - "Mobius Logic"  CD   (Silentes) - 12 euro - Evocative and crepuscular atmospheres, tenuous sounds from the inks color pastel, minimalistic melodies acclimatized on background of "discreet" but wrapping field recordings... Evoked and surrealistic soft sonorous landscapes  with warm synthetic sounds, mixed to crystalline natural noises, concrete sounds, breaths... A fascinating classic "and" quiet "album of" ambient music, to work of one of the greatest and "historical" masters of the sort...

Brilliant piano symphony with industrial elements and samples from Russian movies inspired by classical Russian novel "Crime and Punishment" written by Fyodor Dostoevsky and Goncharov novels. MIEL NOIR / B-MACHINA - "Weiss" CDR (The Eastern Front)  - 9 euro -  Edition of 300 copies. Special 3 panels folded cardboard packing. Released on CD-R format. Industrial War Melancholy. Miel Noir which was created in 2007 is a side project of Dimo D. from Svarrogh, Allerseelen and Sturmpercht. Miel Noir sound , concept and atmosphere differ from Dimo's main project Svarrogh, it's another way and another music.  6 melancholic industrial tracks adorned with deep unique Dimo's vocal are titled "Miel I, II, III, IV, V, VI". MIZAR - "A View to a Flower Garden"  Digipak CD (Corvus Records) - 11 euro - The return of a classic dark wave band from the 80’s, this time with a more minimalistic approach (in the vein of Joy Division, for instance), but quite dark, elegant, melodic, very gothic and still sweetly melancholic.

MOLJEBKA PVLSE / SEVENTEEN MIGS OF SPRING - "Ravha / Electricity Gardens" CD (Topheth Prophet)  - 11 euro - A split / collaboration disc, with one 27-minute track by the Swedish trio Moljebka Pvlse, five tracks by the Israeli duo Seventeen Migs of Spring and one shared piece. Both acts are known for their unique approach to drone ambient sounds - with processed field electronics, quiet metallic rumbles, dark brooding ambience and drones - with a more aggressive approach by SMOS. MOON FAR AWAY - "Minnesang" CD (Ahnstern / Steinklang) - 11 euro - Brand new album from cult Russian Neofolk act Moon Far Away! "Minnesang" is an album of 21st century ritual music encased in a unique fusion of the most diverse and zeitgeist-capturing musical styles, from neofolk, dark folk and post punk to practically future pop. The theme of the album, the deep-rooted feminine archetypes in contemporary art, is embodied in the title, which identifies a genre of medieval knight lyrics. At the same time, most of the original Russian lyrics on the album are drenched with the trademark Pomor flavours, emphasising the pride that the band has always taken in its cultural roots that extend deep into the epic traditions of the Russian North. "Minnesang" is a new milestone achieved by a cult group who already gave contemporary art scene a number of discoveries and revelations. This Ahnstern version has partly different artwork to the Russian edition and the last song is completely different to the Russian version.

M.O.T.T - "Архипелаг Гулаг" digipack CDR (Midnight Productions) - 7 euro - The newest conceptual mini-album from the Chinese Industrial Martial Ambient act Most Of The Taciturn created on the basis of the immortal masterpiece "The Gulag Archipelago" as the chief source, written by Russian literator Alexander Solzhenitsyn. Five repressive Dark Ritualistic Industrial Ambient tracks present the distressful experiences under the cruel reign of Stalin. Pro-CDr on 6-panel digipak in limited edition of 200 copies.

MULTIPOINT INJECTOR - "Digital Ownerless" CDR 2009 (Mizantrophy) - 5 euro - The gathering of chosen compositions from last years of the creation this project. Experimental and postindustrial collages, something for fans Thomasa Konera! The outlay  limited edition to 50 copies.

MURDEROUS VISION - "The Times Without Gods" CD  (Live Bait Rec.) - 11 euro - Deep layers, melodic keyboards, classical samples, some ritualistic percussion here, some low-pitched echoed plus chorused voices there, and a good dose of darkness via reverb and minor chords; you already know the formula, don't you? But the fact is that, even if Murderous Vision repeats the patterns of an established genre with a superb accuracy .. and then, maybe you can infer that this is the case of a perfectly planned album, which lacks an own soul, and that's not precisely what surrounds me .., Mr Petrus demonstrates that it has an identity as a composer. And moreover, I would describe some parts of the recording as highly emotional, giving that somewhat special touch to the album; the quality all art should transmit and something that some technically depurated musicians tend to forget nowadays. Add to it a few carefully arranged pictures (layout work of the acclaimed Michael Riddick) in a standard jewel case, but with a professional appearance, and, as a whole, here you have the reasons why an edition like this couldn't keep on passing unnoticed for the average fan of the more listenable side of Industrial. A perfectly designed product and an infallible bet, which surely decided the artist to give its best in all senses once he realized what he had between hands. A moment of brilliancy and a high mark difficult to be surpassed in the near future, but that can set a new beginning for the band.

OF SWINE AND SWILL - "Of Swine and Swill" CD (Live Bait Rec.) - 11 euro - Like an ancient bottle of Absinthe found buried in some dark cellar, you’ve discovered something very unique here. Elements of the classics, Pink Floyd, Black Sabbath and Hawkwind perfume the air as an aural louche, sonic clouds swirling with Industrial soundscapes a la Deutsch Nepal or In Slaughter Natives, with a touch of Godspeed You! Black Emperor. Stephen Petrus (Murderous Vision) and John Potter (Flintknap/Murderous Vision) created the initial concepts for Of Swine and Swill as childhood friends. Musical discussions turned to all night experimentations. Recording sessions turned into weekends, then weeks of nothing but the music. Over the course of the summer of ’08, Stephen and John blended their rock and electronic roots into a finely honed project, with over an hour of material recorded. PHAENON - "His Master's Voice" digipack CD  (Malignant Records) - 11 euro  -  After the well received debut Submerged, Phaenon follows things up with an even deeper immersion into a world of bleak, isolationist sounds. Whereas Submerged was one long and infinitely expansive drone piece, His Master’s Voice is broken up into four separate, but flowing tracks of sprawling and spacious ambient drift, laced with interstellar disturbances, probing, alien tones and icy shards of celestial debris…a whirling specter of darkness and void-ic space, thematically based upon the 1968 novel of the same name by Stanislaw Lem, which is centered around the efforts by scientists to decode, translate and understand a series of extraterrestrial transmissions. PHAENON - "Submerged" digipack CD  (Malignant Rec.) - 11 euro  - With the debut release from Phaenon, it is immediately evident a heavyweight has arrived. The brainchild of Polish born, but current Maryland resident, Szymon Tankiewicz, Submerged is a dark ambient tour de force. Visually and sonically enveloping, this is an album of space and texture, slowly revealing a psychoactive soundscape of majestic, arcing timbres, circadian buzzes, and expansive drones. Heavy, and cosmically weighty in the beginning, Submerged evolves into something more minimalist and serene, radiating a celestial beauty, yet becoming even more bleak and suffocating as it progresses over it‘s 66 minute time frame. Experienced from start to finished, there’s a palpable sense of drifting and drowning, of being carried away into an endless, interstellar vacuum. An exciting new project, and a must for dark ambient purists.

PHASE II - Afterglow" digipack CD (Ahnstern / Steinklang) - 11 euro  - It has been a little over 32 since the inception and all-too-brief life span of Phase II, the prog-folk band founded by Mark Andrews (Blue Grass) and Nicholas Tesluk (Changes). PHRAGMENTS - "Earth Shall Not Cover Their Blood" digipack CD  (Malignant)  - 11 euro -  You’ve seen it before. Certain bands or artists delivering their finest work with their first recording. Then, in futile attempts to capture some of the same magic, becoming formulaic and stale, rehashing ideas and never really achieving the same caliber of work. Others, expanding on the elements of their prior releases, and through a natural maturation process, get stronger with each release. That would certainly be the case with Phragments. With their third full length studio CD, this Slovakian duo have made remarkable strides not only in quality but in scope. Limited to 111 hand-numbered copies.  I love getting releases like this...hidden gems that catch me by surprise and just completely deliver the goods. The Vestigial debut 3 inch was the same way. You listened to it, and you pretty much knew within the first 4 minutes that they were onto something out of the ordinary and a notch above the rest. And so, we have here Rasalhague. A one man project from Indiana, this debut is a swirling black mass of brooding drones and weighty cosmic doom. Definitely for fans of Vestigial, Terra Sancta, Cyclic Law, and things of that nature. One to keep an eye on.

This is a new set of recordings built around the ideas of abstract compositional instructions similar in meaning and intent to those used by Karlheinz Stockhausen in such works as “From the seven days”. Eager to create a diverse and ever changing catalogue of works Reformed Faction here embrace improvisation, a feature fundamental to all their recordings, with a different focus and sensibility allowing sounds to evolve slowly and sub-conciously across a unrestricted timescale. The higher one rises, the more do the vibrations harmonise, unite, spin out like certain great notes of Beethoven’s String Quartets, which seem to draw us vertiginously, with held breath, to the resplendent heights of pure light”.
