SEELENTHRON / TRAUM'ER LEBEN / TRINITHOS - "III" digipack CD 2008  (Heimatfolk / Steinklang)  - 30 zł - "III" is a 3-way split album by the classic German NeoFolk bands SEELENTHRON, TRAUM'ER LEBEN and TRINITHOS. on this album each band interprets their favourite songs by the other 2 bands + one own new song by each artist. the finale of "III" is a bonus track by Alexander Meier (Seelenthron) - a fantastic, neoclassical coverversion of a Soulsearch / Sturmpercht song. the 3 bands are well known and highly recommended in the German NeoFolk scene, as they are all fantastic musicians and great live-artists. Seelenthron and Traum'er Leben have already released several outstanding albums, but for Trinithos "III" is the debut-release (beside some very limited CDR releases). the first album by Trinithos comes in early may 2008 on HEIMATFOLK.

SEKTOR 304 - "Soul Cleansing" digipack CD 2009 (Malignant Records) - 30 zł - Equipped with a frightening and impressive array of primitive instrumentation pulled from junkyards and scrap metal heaps, this Portuguese outfit has delivered an astounding formal debut – a heady mixture of truly old school industrial in the vein of Einsturzende Neubauten, Test Dept , and S.P.K , and the grinding, bass heavy dirge of vintage Swans and Godflesh . These are anthems to the past, but geared towards an apocalyptic and bleak future… a form of counter-culture using what is most evident in modern western society: the debris, the abandoned objects, the waste, the noise, and the interference. With a solid foundation of rusty, oil drenched percussion, Sektor 304 adds layer upon layer of squalling industrial clangor, hammering metallic noise, grimy atmospheres, heaving masses of haunted factory drones, and threatening tribal batter, with a strong and commanding vocal presence. The sound here is almost physical in nature – provocative, persistent, and demanding. No one is doing what Sektor 304 is doing right now. SHINJUKU THIEF - "The Scribbler" CD 2007 (Cold Spring) - 30 zł - Reissue of the 1992 classic by this Australian genius, originally released in an edition of 500 copies. Occasional bursts of factory noise, industrial rumblings and disembodied German voices form the backdrop to a minimalist reworking of Kafka's "The Trial." An album of dense filmic atmospheres and orchestral instrumentation. 'The Scribbler' has been digitally remastered and is enhanced with a series of video clips constructed by Richard Grant (I+T=R), incorporating both new material together with the original images prepared for "The Scribbler" live show.

SIMULACRA - "There is a fountain filled with blood" CD 2010  (No Angels Prod. / Consouling Sounds) - 30 zł -  Co-produced by Consouling and No Angels Productions (www.no.angels.glt.pl), THERE IS A FOUNTAIN FILLED WITH BLOOD is the latest album by Miguel Boriau's Simulacra. Already active also with Weihan, Mannus, Beyond Infinity and Nihilum, Miguel, since 2006, made of Simulacra his main musical project. Printed in 500 copies and released the next month, THERE IS A FOUNTAIN FILLED WITH BLOOD presents to the lover of sidereal dark ambient five tracks of gloomy icy drones. "Unsullied by the touch of time", "There is a fountain filled with blood", "In solitary confinement", "I have no blood | I have no heart" and "Above me only a shimmering light" (remixed by Mystified) offer hypnotic soundscapes where humming sounds blend forming light melodies that are finding themselves lose in a sea of torment. Focused on the bleak effect created, Miguel didn't change much the sound/frequencies of the tracks and sometimes you feel that something is missing. SISTER LOOLOMIE - "Signals" CD-R (Zhelezoboton) - 15 zł - Sister Loolomie is one of the offspring of [S]ergey (or just [S]), a musician from Moscow region, known for his projects Exit In Grey, Five Elements Music and some others, as well as for his labels Still*Sleep and Semperflorens. The musical style of [S] is notable for its delicate and gentle approach to sound, the keywords for its definition are: ambient / drone / experimental / electroacoustic. In Sister Loolomie [S] utilizes deliberate sonic "digitalizing" and at the same time manages to keep the warmth and cosiness of sound in his own way, resembling tape drone music. [S]ergey uses guitar, electronics, radio and computer processing in creating his soundscapes, both abstract and sensuous at the same time. The compositions move calmly and slowly, sound loops draw in attention like spirals and dissolve it in their textures. Shivery signal waves and soft generated rasp form an aerial atmosphere, in which crackle the discharges of digital interference, and bright yet slightly melancholic melodies bring serenity and tender contemplative sadness.

SISTRENATUS - "Sensitive Disturbance" CD (Cold Spring)  - 30 zł -  Blurring the lines between Dark Ambient, Industrial and Noise, Sistrenatus storms forth, shifting between oppressive aggression and unsettling atmospheres. The polar regions are awe-inspiring environments of inhospitable minimalism, and at the same time there's a beautiful serenity to be found in their uncharted bleakness. There's a powerful purity and a timelessness to be found there; snow which has lain un-trampled for millennia and ice which formed eons ago; mountain ranges and deserts and rivers to be found if you look. 'Deep Frieze' is SRF's second album for Cold Spring and here deep, resonant, abyss-like drones shine forth from icy chasms below.

SLOGUN - "Glory Of Murder" CD 2008 (BloodLust!) - 30 zł - Power electronics.  This is the sixth and final release in the main part of the Slogun "History of Violence" re-issue campaign. "The Glory Of Murder" was originally released on cassette in April 1998 on the short-lived Italian label Soffitta Macabra which was co-run by Marco "Depla" Deplano [Wertham, Foresta Di Ferro, etc.] and Pino; The hand-numbered edition of 100 copies has long been a rarity; This cassette was a major entry in the evolving world of true crime subject matter, which Slogun was already immersed in, and it was also the last cassette released by Slogun prior to a notable switch-over to the compact disc medium; Like the first five re-issue CDs in the set, the audio for this re-mastered version was expertly prepared in Lille, France, by Jerome Nougaillon [Propergol], while John Balistreri's bold graphic design follows the standard that he created for the ongoing series. This CD is packaged in a jewel box with a four-panel color and black and white booklet; True Crime Electronics - FTW; Released in 2008.

TROUM - "Siqan" digipack CD (Drone Records)  - WYPRZEDANE!! - Deep beneath the ocean is a world of mystery, wonder, darkness, and danger. The depth and volume are all encompassing, and moving slowly but steadily like an ancient and lonely large whale through the graveyards of shipwrecks, at the very beginning of the food chain in which all living creatures depend. Recorded live in the studio without overdubs, the first two parts are based on live performances the band was touring around with in 2001, the first being a dark blue rumble, heavy on the low end and marked by patient melodic movement, the second with swirling guitar strums and leads like the sun coming through in bended bands of beams: flickering, reflected, and refracted. The third part was recorded as an afterthought, and is described as a new ending. Its brightness and chugging backwards-sounding guitars brilliantly accent the feel that it is a journey which is reaching its end. At this point, it feels that the central figure in the journey seems to be a vessyl of some sort, and the 16-minute Part 3 is thematic of a glorious resurfacing, reintroduction to the bright light of day, and returning to solid ground.

VORTEX - "Rockdrill" CD (Cyclic Law) - 35 zł - Vortex is a German sound art project from :Golgotha: and Aeterna member Marcus Stiglegger, challenging the boundaries of ritual and dark ambient music. After the critically acclaimed debut album "Phanopoeia" (2008) out on Tesco Organization and the media book/soundtrack "Silence" (:Ikonen: media 2009), the new full length album ‘Rockdrill’ continues on the same path and mobilizes acoustic instruments (guitar, percussion, piano), voice, electronics and samples to create a unique and very epic sound monument in 11 parts. Vortex is named after a modernist British art movement of the 1920s called Vorticism, headed by Ezra Pound and Wyndham Lewis. The new album ‘Rockdrill’ is especially inspired by a sculpture called ‘Rock Drill’by the Vorticist artist Sir Jacob Epstein (1880-1959). It was built according to his sketches in 1913-14 to symbolize 'the terrible Frankenstein's monster we have made ourselves into'. The sculpture had a huge influence on the Vorticist movement and inspired several cantos by Ezra Pound (LXXXV–XCV, Section: Rock-Drill, 1956). It was destroyed during the war and cast again in bronze in 1962. Epstein himself did not like the sculpture and decided to "save" only a part of the actual figure - not the rock drill itself. The concept of this album is to reconstruct the history, mood and allegory of this piece of sculptural art as well as its impact on modern art movements. Vresnit presented its CD-release contained ecstatic & exploring records made in the fall of 2008 and remastered in winter-spring 2009. WHISPER OF TEARS - "Into The Night" MCD (Dying Art Productions) - 30 zł -  The latest album from this dark Neoclassical solo female group from Guangzhou, China. The music of Whisper Of Tears creates an atmosphere that can echo with our inner emotions, like sorrow, dreams, longs and desire, loneliness etc. Through the darkness we can see light. There's no light without darkness... A very nice piece for fans of ethereal / medieval music with a bombastic edge, in the vein of Camerata Mediolanense, O Quam Tristis etc (without vocals). WOLFSKIN feat. LAST INDUSTRIAL ESTATE – "Stonegates of Silence" digipack CD  (Malignant Records) - 30 zł -  And so the journey formally ends for Wolfskin, 15 years from whence it began with the release of the Hidden Fortress cassette back in 1995. The essence of Wolfskin has transformed and mutated throughout the years, reaching on "The Stonegates of Silence" it's simpler form….one of desolation, solitude, insanity and death, the final frontiers of human existence. As he did with The Hidden Fortress: A Revisitation CD, Wolfskin once again pairs up with Anders Peterson of Objekt 4 fame, now operating under the name of Last Industrial Estate for the purposes of this recording. This is Wolfskin at its bleakest and most restrained, offering 5 tracks of enveloping ambience built around foggy, ambiguous textures and an endless flow of drifting isolationism, shapeless horrors, and oppressive subterranean heaviness. In the case of Stonegates, Wolfskin goes out not with a bang, but with a slow, evolutionary creep into the shadows, forever etched in the lexicon of dark ambient music. In 4 panel digipak.

WOLFSKIN - "O Ajuntar das Sombras" digipack CD  (Malignant)  - 30 zł - Finally, after years of delay, O Ajuntas das Sombras by Wolfskin is finally unleashed. Initally intended to be a re-issue of 2001’s very limited The Gather of Shadows by the Setting Sun CDr (Ajna), it eventually evolved into a re-working of three tracks from that release, complimented by 7 newly recorded tracks. As the Wolfskin era comes to end , this release represents a glimpse into their past…a more organic, flowing ambient record than what you may find today, and perhaps the least conceptual of all their releases. That being said, it most certainly will go down as one of their more stunning, darker visions; a masterpiece of shadowy atmospheres and drifting currents, featuring multiple layers of archaic sounds, foggy, nebulous textures, and ritual invocations, perfectly combined to form a release of intense depth and complexity.Must certainly rank among the finest dark ambient records released in the history of Malignant. X-NAVI:ET - "Soundtracks for the Dying Moments" LP 2012 (Istant Classic) - 60 zł -  Rafał Iwański a.k.a. X-NAVI:ET is a percussionist, wind-instrument player and electronic sound artist, known from his main outfit HATI. Performing as X-NAVI:ET, he presents electroacoustic-space-drone-music, a unique combination of analog electronic sound generators and filter machines with acoustic instruments and field/found recordings. "Soundtracks for the Dying Moments" is the title of his full-length solo debut album, released on limited to 250 copies vinyl via Instant Classic. „X-NAVI:ET is based on analogue modified electric and acoustic instruments. I’m talking about small percussive instruments, medium-sized gongs, Chinese and Arabic clarinets and found objects” – explains Iwański.

"Soundtracks for the Dying Moments" was carefully composed with the attention towards every small detail. It resembles a kind of musical storytelling. „It was crucial to create it as a story with memorable scenes, something like a movie to listen to. I spent a lot of time trying to figure out the one and only logic of the sequences-compositions. I’m glad that people are coming back to traditional records and magnetic tapes which is a more holistic way of listening”. ZLYE KUKLY - "Strange tomorrow" CD (Steinklang / Ahnstern) - 30 zł - Folk / Dark Folk.  After several private CDR releases, "Strange tomorrow" is the first official album by this unique russian Folk band, based in Jerusalem / Israel. dreamingly beautiful, sad and at the same time weird and progressive Folk songs with a gentle early 70ies touch. the band uses a large variety of perfectly played acoustic instruments, as well as some fine electronic sounds. the powerful and empathetic (russian) vocals from Fred Adra and his (background) singers give a very personal and unique touch to the music of Zlye Kukly. this band is really hard to compare to other artists; maybe some of their songs remind a bit to the folky Gae Bolg, the best balads of Boyd Rice, but mainly You can feel the spirit of the great early 70ies aera of Yugoslavian folk artists, such as Kladivo Konj in Voda, Svremena na Vreme, Drugi Nacin and others.
